As a medical student, I was lucky enough to have an established mentor in oncology who opened my eyes to all the wonders of the field. After watching her cultivate compassionate relationships with her patients for years and learning all about the treatment modalities and Innovations, I was convinced oncology was the right fit for me. 

When I told others about my aspirations the responses were always awkward grimaces and responses like "Isn't that so sad?". I often found other medical students only exposure to cancer patients was when they encountered them on Inpatient rotations when they were the sickest and often experiencing complications. 

My goal is to help expose more medical students and residents to what a wonderful and broad field oncology is, help them get connected to resources and mentorship opportunities, and Inspire them to become the next generation of compassionate and caring oncologists.
